I have an iPod Touch 4g version 4.3.1. I've been checking on youtube hot to jailbreak and there's always a step where I have to download 4.3.1...but i'm already on 4.3.1. Can't I just directly use RedSnow to jailbreak my iPod Touch?

Tethered or Untethered, I don't really mind.

**Sorry, if there's already thread**

You can always downgrade, unless there's something in 4.3.1 you really need.

Do you know by any chance how to downgrade?

Yes I do! :D

1. Go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/. Then scroll down to iPhone / iPod touch / iPad / Apple TV and then click the arrow to scroll down and select your device and firmware. Then click download and save it to your desktop or downloads folder.

2. Go to http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ and on the right you can download TinyUmbrella according to your operating system. Save this to desktop or downloads folder.

3. Go to http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/products/view/ireb.snow and download iREB RC4 according to your operating system and unzip the file to your desktop.

4. Once all downloads are complete plug in your device and run iREB. Then choose your device, and follow the instructions to get into PWNED DFU mode. Then open TinyUmbrella and click on Start TSS Server. These programs will bypass a few errors in iTunes when you are downgrading.

5. Open iTunes and on the sidebar, under devices, click the name of your device. Before you do this next step you should backup your device and transfer any purchases to iTunes so you do not loose anything! If you have a mac hold down the option and alt keys, and then click restore. If you have a PC hold down shift, and then click restore. Then navigate to the ipsw file that you downloaded, open it, and then click restore.

6. While the firmware is being installed, go to http://greenpois0n.com/ and download the zip file according to your operating system. When the download is complete, extract the file to your desktop.

Note: At the end of the firmware installation you might get a 1015, 1013, or any other 10xx error. This means that the firmware is installed, but it has not been verified.

7. All you need to do now is jailbreak and it will bypass the 10xx errors! :) So open greenpois0n on your desktop and click no because you are not jailbreaking Apple TV. You should already be in DFU mode so when the jailbreak is ready, click Jailbreak!

now does this work for downgrading any ipod or iphone?

Yes it does! You just need to download the ipsw corresponding to the model of your device. Other than that the processes is exactly the same.

INCORRECT. You have to have saved SHSH blobs to do this.
