Sorry for not keeping the question clear, because I really do not know how to word it better.

I have been using Mac OS for many years, until recently I got a new Mac Book Pro 2013 which comes with 10.9 Mavericks.

With all previous version of OS, whenever you resize a folder and move a file to a certain position or even re-size the icon size, it will stay in the same place and size even after you shut down the computer.

With this new Maverick, every time I resize a folder or move a file to a certain position, after I restart everything go back to the same place, the folder size get back to its original factory set size so as the icon size.

So how do I do it like the previous OS? Please help. Thanks.
