How do you calibrate a battery?
how do you check the number of cycles on your battery?
I just got a MBP and calibrated the battery - came back today after being gone all day and its sitting on ac power. Battery is already at 98% sitting on the charger. Its like 3 days old, thought it was strange...
So since Ive already calibrated should I just run it down to 5-20% then recharge?
thanks-
Can someone confirm if it is good standard practice to keep the battery charged the whole day while working on the MBP? Is it alright to do that?
I've had my 13" MBP for 4 weeks now. Recently my battery life has gone from 100% for the first 3 weeks, down to 96% this week. I have 12 charge cycles on it, two of those from doing the whole calibration technique and mine won't improve. Any other suggestions?
Don't fuss about it. It's fine.
I'm not fussing about it. I'm only concerned. I've only had it for a few weeks and now its reading on 93% remaining... 5116/5450 mAh.
The fuss and concern is the same idea. No need to be so concerned. If the battery's defective, Apple will replace it. There's no magic secret to a long life battery since it is a wearable item.
Don't let that battery sit with 0 cycles for too much longer.
I had a one year old MBP that only had 11 cycles on the battery. Most of those were from the mag safe pulling out and me not noticing it. After one year with 11 cycles, it would not hold a charge and Apple replaced it even though it was out of warranty.
You have to use the battery or it will go bad. Four months and 0 cycles is not good.
wow you guys are seriously obsessed about battery. Its a battery, meant to be used. Sure who doesn't like to keep it at 100%?
I like my tires to look brand new and have its treading looking the same as when I first picked it up. Its a tool meant to be used, so I'm not gonna be so obsessed that I'm not driving it just so my tires can keep its tread and looking new.
Point is, just use it and stop looking at the health unless its seriously warrants a replacement. paralysis by analysis. anyone here ever heard of it?
