Hello, on Android device, we could tell which apps are essential to the running of the device and which apps are not. We could just kill those non-essential apps to save battery life. How can we distinguish the apps into these two categories and kill the non-essential ones at will?

Just disable Spotlight Search, Background Refresh, Location Service and Notifications for the Apps you don't need. Then they won't do anything if you don't launch them.

You can also disable/hide some of the Apps and Features in Restrictions. Everything that is listed there should not be essential.
