Hello guys,

I often have few tabs open in safari and I just wanna know if there is a way to limit safari with the amount of cache it gets cause I often have to quit safari and reopen just to be able to use the computer (space is low).
I wouldn't mind 2 gigs or so but it got as bad as 16gb!!! which I think is crazy. ( I suspect that partially it might be the new autoplay feature on facebook etc. as those videos might get cached and build up over time.
Is there a way to set limit so safari would have to reload once the limit is reached?

Thank you

The option to limit was removed a long time ago. Best you can do is to clear it.

But 16GB is excessive. My retinaMBP doesn't have massive HDD so I constantly battle with space and this doesn't help :(

In case you don't know, you can set up Safari so you can empty caches, as needed.

Safari --> Preferences --> Advanced --> click box for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'

When you want to clear caches : click Develop that you just put into Safari's menu bar --> Empty Caches
