In windows, there is an administrative tool called "Event Log" where you can see all the events that occurred in your system (applications, security, system). Where is that in OS X? Is it the console? If it's the console, is there an easier way of looking at the info? Event log usually "dumbs" down the info so anybody can understand it.

Like looking at the console, it's hard to tell whether an event is an info, warning, or an error.
