I have the Mavericks.app to restore my MBA that only had windows in it, how do I make it bootable?
Use the Windows app TransMac to make a USB key installer for yourself.
This works with the .app file? it only says DMG.
I'm sorry, I have not used it myself, I have just seen other people here mention they have used it.
its okay. I need an app to let me make Mavericks.app bootable.
Hold down cmd-R while you restart the machine and it will boot over the internet (be patient!). From there you can restore Mavericks. https://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/
