How to make a rainbow disappear

    I went out to help my mom unload some things from her car, looked left and saw this:

    I then wondered what would happen if I used the polarizer, and it turns out that it's super cool! Just take a look at this video I took.
    That's all I could get, since it was starting to rain, so I didn't have time to fiddle with the settings to be able to get a really good pic. :-\ Still, I love the effect!

    BTW, can anyone explain why the rainbow disappears? I was facing away from the sun when I took that pic/video.

    Basically it filters out the rainbow's waves. Take a peek at wikipedia for a more detailed explanation.

    Thanks :) I had an idea, but for some reason I thought that it would actually enhance the colors of the rainbow, not make them disappear!
