how to make an iso into a img (does not work as an .iso)

    im not good with the command hdiutil convert i am trying to convert this file _______ /Users/<3/Desktop/ubuntu-10.04.2-desktop-i386.iso ______ to a .img can some one pleas wright out the full command
    i have to convert it and also it does not work as an .iso

    Generally you don't. If you're trying to install Ubuntu it wouldn't help you to have a .dmg anyways. Non-ambiguous installation instructions for installing Ubuntu can be found with a simple Google search.
