As I work all day from home, I play music from my iPad via the HomePod.

When I've got music playing (which will be a load of albums lined up using a shortcut - probably 100+ songs) on my iPad, I use the iPad to sending it to the HomePod - and it randomly does one of three things:
1 - Send a very tiny smattering of the songs to the HomePod plucked seemingly randomly from the upcoming list - And the icon at the bottom left will say "Dining Room" (the room I'm in)

2 - Send a larger chunk of the songs- usually enough to include the whole of the current album and some or all of the next - and it shows "Dining Room" again. This is okay, but the songs played are never marked as played, and I have to keep refreshing it from my iPad when it gets to the end of the songs it sent across.

3 - Actually connect properly - down the bottom, it says "iPad - Dining Room". If I get this, then songs are correctly marked as played, and it would happily play all the way to the end of my lined up songs with no problems.

I used to find it was something close to 50/50 whether I'd get the proper connection or not - Since the latest updates, I think I've had it happen maybe once in the last month.

Does anyone know a way I can make it connect properly?

Thanks

I’ll try.
1. Are the album / music on your iPad or does it half to download it from another source ( MAC, iCloud, external drive)
2. Are you seeing any network slowdown when working on the iPad With any other programs?
3. are you on a 2g or 5g WiFi?

I’m using Apple Music. I’m on Wi-Fi, and I haven’t noticed any slowdown.

Thanks

Oh and I have my iPad set to Optimise Storage for Music, so for any given song, it might or might not be stored on my iPad.
