How to make websites applications?

Hey all, I heard of an application that lets you almost download a website to make it into its own application that you can for instance put in the dock. I didn't really know how to search for this, does anyone know what it's called?

You're probably thinking about a SSB (Site Specific Browser). The big one I'm familiar with is Fluid.

Is there an application like this but for the iphone? it would be pretty cool to be able to port your favorite website over to the iphone like macrumors and engadget.
