I have an AppleID with name@gmail.com (before the times of MobileMe & iCloud) with all my iTunes Purchases & Apple Music and a dedicated MobileMe (now iCloud) account with iCloud Drive, Notes, Reminders and iMassage. Using both leads to more and more troubles. So I would like to merge them. Since this doesn't seem possible by Apple (why?) I would at least manually reduce them to one account.

AppleID "name@gmail.com"
  • iTunes Purchases (Apps, Music, Movies)
  • Purchases in Apple Online Store
  • Apple Music
MobileMe / iCloud Account "name@icloud.com"
  • Mail
  • Notes
  • Reminders
  • iMessage
  • Home
Since I don't want to loose hundreds of dollars in purchases I need to make my AppleID "name@gmail.com" my main account going forward and abandon my previous name@icloud.com Account.

Plan:
  1. Create a new iCloud Account using my Apple ID "name@gmail.com" so I can save data in the iCloud
  2. Manually transfer Mails, Notes and Reminders by saving them locally on the Mac to the new iCloud account connected to my AppleID "name@gmail.com"
  3. Search for a solution for transferring iMessage Messages
While the first two points seem possible, the third screams problems. I have thousands of iMessage Messages (on my name@icloud.com Account), some very important messages I don't want to lose.

Challenge:
  • How can I transfer all my iMassages from one iCloud account to a new iCloud account?

  • How can I transfer all my iMassages from one iCloud account to a new iCloud account?
You should be able to sign out of the old iCloud account on your Mac and sign into the new one, and your data should sync into the new account automatically. Just make sure you select all the "Keep on my Mac" options when prompted as you sign out of the old account. iCloud Drive data would have to be moved manually.

Hi, thanks for your reply. This might help me with Notes and Reminders (which I could also transfer manually) but I don't think this option includes iMassage from my iPhone.

Having separate accounts has become a real nightmare, aggravated by AppleOne. I'm being punished for having a .mac account (20+ years ago) that Apple didn't allow to be used to create an iTunes account when iTunes was created. That stupid decision has carried out through .me and now .icoud. I have my email / photos / files, etc under .mac iCloud account but iTunes and App store purchases under my ISP e-mail. Subscription to AppleOne has made a mess of the situation and Apple won't let me merge the accounts. Does anyone has an idea how to escalate this issue inside Apple? Someone should admit this is totally their fault and we should be helped.
