SystemPrefs/iCloud/Manage/TextEdit/2 docs

How do I open the two TextEdit docs stored in iCloud from my Yosemite iMac?
I tried Control clicking them in the iCloud window but no joy. I see no way to download them from the iCloud.

Are they stored on my iMac somewhere, and only copied to iCloud?

Do you have iCloud Drive enabled? If so, just select iCloud Drive in your Finder sidebar or from the Go menu and open the folder called TextEdit.

No, I do not use iCloud Drive. At least I thought I chose NOT to set it up. iCloud Drive does not show in the finder left side column window. I use Google Drive, but not iCloud Drive.

Somehow, these two TextEdit docs were saved to iCloud Drive, at least it shows saved in system prefs.

Could I have saved the two docs into iCloud Drive from my iOS8 iPad Air? But TextEdit isn't an app on the iPad Air.

In the Notability App on the iOS iPad Air, I once turned on iCloud drive as a backup FROM the App. But not in iOS8 system prefs, then immediately shut iCloud Drive backups OFF.

Wish I knew how the two docs got to the iCloud.
