how do i do that? i think i can set that up using tabs i don't want tabs i want all active instances of safari that are open --i have looked but unable to find and answer- thank you, newbie naturally

I'm not entire sure what you mean. Active windows are already open, surely.

Do you know you can right click on Safari in the dock and select "Show all Windows". Maybe that's what you are after?
