Happily or unhappily shocked? :)

That is, is it better or worse than you expected?

Much better than I expected.

Anyway, I will try gametrailers.com for the next few videos, as a person here suggested earlier.

Also, my video game design professor is scoring a nvidia 9800GX2 (imagine two 8800 g92 cores in SLI on one big card) which will hopefully come out by March. It's supposed to be 30% faster than the 8800Ultra, which is the Ultra High-end card in the 8800 series. So if I can get him to let me borrow it, I will be able to show you guys the game performance under that as well :D
Of course, this card will only work under Windows.

With the Mac Pro's with 8800GT shipping recently, I will prob wait until my 8800GT card arrives to post more videos.

Guide (while running Windows):

Boot Camp is a must for this game. I recommend playing on Windows XP, as that provides about 5-10+ fps over Vista.

 I am sorry but whats the point if you're going to run it on XP???
the whole idea behind VISTA and CRYSIS is that you get directX 10 shaders...

if you play it on XP...its directX 9....

wait for your 8800 and dont even bother with ATI stock....I say...:p

The "hack" enables very high and most dx10 features on XP.

Vista causes up to a 10 fps frame drop, no matter what hardware you have.

Update to give you an idea of 8800GT performance:

Quad core 2.8
8800gt
Raptor 10k rpm drive
4gb ram

Vista 64bit

All options but shaders/shadows at very high. Shaders and Shadows at medium. No AA turned on.

The game runs 30-35fps at 1680x1050 resolution.

Thanks for the update, very glad to hear that.

Although I was hoping to turn shadows and shaders to very high at that resolution... :p

If I was running this on Windows XP with the hacks in place and/or Crysis was better optimized, I'm sure it could do it. We'll see how things change once the new 1.2 patch is released here before long.

has the 8800GT not arrived yet, i really want to know how much it improves
