Please, let this be a jokeAmazing; connect a non Apple controller to every Apple platform except the one that matters. LOL... Mac OS gaming is DEAD.

The Xbox Elite Pro 2 controller is by far the best controller I have ever used. I cannot stand the PS4 controller, and I can't even find a PS5 to buy so I haven't even tried the PS5 controller.
i have both the elite 1 and PS5 dual sense. The dual sense comfort/form is functionally a copy of XBOX's. If the black/white color scheme is not there on the dual sense, the shape will look indistinguishable from an xbox controller. The Xbox Elite Pro 2 controller is by far the best controller I have ever used. I believe generally the PS4 controller ergonomics are bad for most people. I feel it digs into your palm due to the sharper edges. I suspect that is why the PS5 controller shape copies the xbox's form...To each their own. I can't stand any of the xbox controllers and greatly prefer the PS controllers. I even find the switch remotes more comfortable to hold.
Spent many hours with both the PS4 and PS5 remotes and while the PS4 remote is ok the PS5 remote is way better. I highly recommend trying one out if you can find one.
There is no special coding needed for the back buttons. Games do not detect them as some special button. What you do is to use the xbox accessories app on PC to configure them to act as any one of the other standard buttons.Do any macOS/iOS games utilize the xbox impact triggers? (maybe the better question is if Apple even has an API for them)
My son has an Elite controller, I do think the customization of the sticks are cool. If used properly the Dual Sense is the bees knees, but as far as I know there are no API's to access the adaptive triggers so half of what makes the controller so cool is useless everywhere but on the PS5.
*snarky reply* buy an Xbox?If anyone works out a way to upgrade the Xbox controller firmware on a Mac without parallells I would be keen to know.
If Borderlands 2 was such a success on Mac why isn't Borderlands 3 available? No snark implied.
Nevermind I see that Aspry ported the game to Mac and Linux. So it will probably be a while for the Mac port of 3.
LOL. Yeah i don't get time to game that much so can't justify a console. Just want to use the controller with my Mac & iPad. All my friends have Macs too apart from work PC's but they are locked down and they cant download the MS Accessories app from the MS store.*snarky reply* buy an Xbox?
Seriously though, I am pretty sure you need either an Xbox or Windows. the Dual Sense has the same issue of requiring a PS5 to update it's firmware.
Is the Mac version only available on the Mac app store? I didn't see it in steam.Borderlands 3 has been available on Mac forever. I've played it quite a lot, because my friend had no PS4, but also has a 15" MBP with dedicated graphics.
Once he got the PS, we switched to playing there, but still spent many many hours in BL3 on Mac.
Don't know about Steam, but I bought Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe through Epic in February 2020. It was released in September 2019, it was actually available on Mac before it was on Xbox.Is the Mac version only available on the Mac app store? I didn't see it in steam.
Can you configure the back buttons / paddles in the games on the Mac ? I'm interested in getting one if I replace the A/B/X/Y buttons to save my right thumb or do combos more easily (A + Y is rather uncomfortable) , but I haven't been able to find info on how or if the back buttons appear on Mac or in games. The Xbox Elite Pro 2 controller is by far the best controller I have ever used.
