I get the feeling Apple Watch software was designed by a completely different team than ably other iDevice, and did so in a complete silo. Why not just have iTunes right on the watch, sync to cloud over wifi. Why a ridiculous routine to get music in it? So many things like this are emerging and seem to be afterthoughts, a workaround until Apple figured out how to make the watch more independent.

Apple had 4 years to take ALL there experience from iPod, iPhone, and iPad and develop a superlative watch experience, but 65% of user feedback is negative. This is ridiculous. This is NOT a first gen device, this should have been a natural extension of Apples experience developing all prior iDevices.

Instead it is obvious this was the first device that had ZERO influence from Steve Job's vision. I think Steve Jobs would never have released this product in its current form.

"I'm Steve Jobs and I approve this message."

I used to use Bluetooth headphones. So flaky and annoying have to charge them all the time. And drains the phone battery. So I have Bluetooth switched off.

Bluetooth is a negative aspect of the Apple Watch, along with its reliance on Siri.

Yeah you're right I'd much rather plug in earbuds and type on a 42mm screen

Said no one ever.

I use my Bluetooth headphones with my iPhone. If I wanted to use them with an Apple Watch, I'd have to re-pair with each device, each time I wanted to switch. I think that would get annoying fast.

Thanks! I love being called "super rich"!

My colleague just bought a car that cost a hundred times more than my Apple Watch, and he has to pay quite a lot of money each month to fill it up with the rather expensive remains of unreplaceable million-year-old biomass. Not to mention the fact that the moment he left the dealership with the car, it lost the eqivalent of five Apple Watches in value, and it continues to lose value quickly.

If I, as an Apple Watch owner, am considered "super rich", then what do people call someone who can urinate that much money down the drain within the blink of an eye?

That was pretty good :)
Except the car isn't optional. For most it's required. A watch that's pretty light on features compared to an iPad (just comparing due to similar prices) is high-luxury. I don't want to speak for that other poster but "super rich" probably wasn't the right word.

I don't have an Apple Watch but I agree, bluetooth headphones drain my iPhone pretty quick. I can only imagine it being pretty bad on a device designed to last just under a day.

Stick with bluetooth, just use a better battery!

Buying a miniature iPad to go on your wrist that serves only a purpose of convenience when you can't be bothered to take a phone out your pocket. Yeah you're super rich. In the scale of classification of global earners and different socio-economic groups you are Pretty close to the top.

Let's be honest here you didn't buy it because it's a watch. Because its namesake function is something by design it's the worst at doing. If you can justify spending more than some people earn in a year on a watch that is poor in telling the time. Yeah you're super rich. Sorry

Sorry, a car is certainly not required, and certainly by far not by most.

Being on the Internet is realistically part of the super rich by many standards. We are all super rich. So what now?

Transport isn't necessary? I imagine you live in a city, and certainly not in the UK. (our infrastructure is fantastic, except when it works out cheaper to drive to work than take a bus every day... and don't even look at train prices!)

OMG and other Steve would not have released this ! Steve wasnt a God and was wrong multiple times ( didnt want apps for iPhone at first, MobileMe, Ping, Cube )

Look at how Apple is making the iPhone THE hub for everything.
CarPlay is uses the iPhone ! You want to use CarPlay ... You need to have your phone with you that mirrors apps you have installed that are updated for carplay.

Apple Watch, uses the iPhone again for apps that are updated for Apple Watch. Uses the iPhone to fetch data over LTE or 3G.

Why would I pay an other cellular plan to use LTE or 3G when the iPhone already does this and can act like a Hub.

iPhone going forward will be the central point of information, like a mini personal server that you carry around with you that backs up to the cloud at night when you charge it.

Yes Apple Watch needs the iPhone ! Get over it, personnaly I think it was a good move. If you think that the Apple Watch would act like a replacement for the iPhone, its just plain not possible. Screen size would just simply be too limited to act like a replacement. People have be asking for biger screen iPhones for years until Apple finally caved in and did a 4.7 and 5.5 inch phone, Screen size really does help with certain apps workflow.
But the Watch is a NOT a phone replacement, its a COMPANION that not everyone needs ! its for quick reference glances. and understanding this takes some time because this is the first hardware Apple has made that does not require you to spend lots of time with it ... in fact its the complete opposite. This may me a shock for people who are used to play hours and hours with Apple products like an iPhone.

Having an iPhone and not my iMac act like a hub for my future devices is a good move. Apple Understands that the future is going mobile.

(on a side note, going for a long jog and not having to carry my phone with me and being able to listen to playlist I made on my iPhone just feels great)

Transportation is necessary for many (although still far from all), but there are many types of transportation aside from a car, especially throughout the world.

And a car is by far the easiest. How would you recommend people (who don't live in cities) to do grocery shopping? Or take their kids to school, or get to work? Without wasting time or spending more than necessary, of course. Honestly this is really perplexing me. When I used to work in the city the bus would take 90 minutes, plus a 10 minute walk to the bus stop... when I got a car that journey took me 15 minutes, literally saving hours a day and yet it cost the same. A train would cost more and take the same amount of time! It's wonderful how useful and cheap driving is.

My journey to college was 80 minutes with buses once an hour, if they were full or late (or early!) you'd never know what time you'd be back home at. When my friend got a car and started driving us it was 20 minutes. We had a car pool going and we all chipped in for petrol, was half the price of public transport.

Personal favourite - when I used to attend industry events but had to leave early to catch the last train home (or spend £250 on a taxi!). Getting a car changed all that too.

Are you an advocate of wasting time?

I'm an advocate of not making unnecessary hyperbolic statements. That part has been addressed. Seems like no reason to keep on taking this thread further off topic.

What hyperbolic statement? The cars are necessary, watches are not one? (for most people. I can imagine they'll be useful for health tracking in the near future)

Yes that cars are a necessity for most, which is really not the case. And more people own and use watches than cars certainly. So there are all kinds of conclusions that can be drawn from that if desired. But again, no need to further detail the thread on a side discussion. So not much more needs to be said.

You're aware we're allowed to discuss topics that have branched off, this isn't Russia it's just a forum (a place of discussion).

Come on, you said something silly, own it and let's talk about it. Cars aren't necessary to most now? But they are to the people that need them which (just running through the people I know) are pretty damn necessary outside of any densely packed urban area. I'd just love to know why you think they're not, or if you think everyone should move to cities?

if your iPhone is running low on space, can you keep music on the Apple Watch after deleting the playlist from your phone or will it automatically delete it off of the watch?

Kinda useless for those who stream all their music.
finding this helped me a lot....i usually stream pandora or spotify but 2 things....I did a race recently and it said no cell phones were allowed so i put music on my watch for the just in case they were serious about that...i ended up carrying my phone on the race course and using my beats wireless....BUT recently I have wanted to just be in the gym on the treadmill and especially the sauna with just my beats( i have both the over the ear and the inner ear ones) and i couldn't figure out for the life of me how to keep my phone in the locker and sit in the sauna with my music because the phone would be out of range...NOW I KNOW that i needed to force press the screen on the watch to get the source option to come up. and now this makes me happy. sometimes we don't know all the ins and outs of devices but I do come here before going to the apple site because this is the place where i learn all the ins and outs of all my apple products.

Okay I'm getting a little bored with the Apple Watch now. Please stop publishing stories about it. It's a gadget for the super rich, I get it. Only .05% of people have got one or want to buy one. I realise your "sources" in Apple are pushing stories to escalate hype but this all needs to die down.
Recommendation: don’t read stories about the Apple Watch. Leave that to those who want to read them!
