Hey!

I someone clever to help me out.

I have a 300gb external hard drive connected to a 500gb Time Capsule so I can access it with any computer on my network.

I have a 200gb folder on the 300gb external hard drive I want protect. Ideally just make it a folder that you need to enter a password to open.

I read about doing it with Disk Utility making a ".Dmg".

2 Problems with this though.

1. Will it make opening the folder take longer? I don't want it to.
2. When I tried it makes a copy. But since it's so big I can't make a copy because there's not enough room for 2 of these folders.

The time capsule is full of Time Machine backups so there's only like 15 gb left.

Does anyone know anyway I can protect this folder?
I'm doing it with my 15" Macbook Pro.

I think that's all the info but if you need anything else just ask.

Thanks for the help!!! 😀 😀
