How to password protect RAR files?

I've found a couple programs that can unrar files without a problem, but I seem to be unable to to put a password on a rar file created by myself.

Anyone recommend anything?

This is a long bump, but I've had to use Windows too much for the single purpose of using WinRar lately and it's getting to me.

If not a RAR file, then at least password protect a ZIP file, but there has to be a program for MAC capable of doing this.

Another, possibly even better, solution might be to create an encrypted disk image.
