Unfortunately you can not pause a video while you are recording. (No such device exists). You can stop recording and then start another recording, then combine then in a software.

My galaxy note says I can. I can record and then pause, then resume.

Can't you just put them together using iMovie?

Its $4.99, some people will find it hard to do on an iPhone, some don't want to.

I think Apple should have an option for it. Maybe in iOS 7, they already allow you to take pictures while recording for the iPhone 5.

That's basically the same thing is it not? If you pause while you're recording, you're not recording, which is the same as hitting the record button again.

Pausing will leave you with one video.

Hitting the record button stops the video, when you press it again you start a new video.

Apple won't change this they make a lot of money off of forcing you to buy additional software so you can manually make it into one video.

Gotcha. Thanks.

yes and no. If you have a newer iphone, 5 or 5s imovie, iphoto, keynote, pages, and numbers are all free.

Followed directions. iPhoto is still showing up as $4.99

Does your phone meet the conditions?
Purchased after September 1, 2013
iOS 7 must be running on the device you're attempting to download them to

Guessing at this one - not jailbroken

If you meet those conditions and it's still not working, I've heard this is a solution - backup to iCloud, wipe the phone, and set it up as new then check the app store.

Well, it's a 5S, so by default 1 and 2 are a go. It was jailbroken, but is no longer as it is on 7.1, so 3 is a go too.

I was able to get them free on my wife's iPhone 5S (share icloud IDs). Once they are considered purchased, they showed up "in the cloud" as downloadable for me too.

Strange that it would do this. But I am not complaining. I found out about free apps. Bummed I bought iMovie. Though that was years ago now, I certainly didn;t get $5 use out of it lol.

Get ProCam 2. It allows you to pause the video and start again. Works great. I use it everyday to make my video reviews on amazon. You cAn also use iMovie. I use that everyday as well:)
