Some sent me an email that directly linked to some .wmv files. I want to safe those files to my hard drive but just can't find *an easy* way of doing it.

Clicking the links opens them in Safari and QT starts playing them, Kiosk mode doesn't work.

There's no right click > download linked file option in mail.app

I've unchecked 'played movies automatically' in QT prefs, quit safari but it still plays the movies.

I just want to download them? Other than creating a html file with the links in so I can 'download linked file' what should I be doing here?

In Safari, go to window-->activty. Find the website with the video..Click on the triangle to show all the assest of the web page. Find the WMV file (should be the biggest one). Double click and I beleive that will download it. (If not, try right clicking...sorry not at my Mac..).

I know this works with *.flv...not sure about other formats...

If you hold down Option (or Alt - same key, two different names) when you double-click the file it will always download regardless of the file format when you do what Cameront9 suggested.
