After watching the first two episodes of Tehran on a plane -- highly recommended -- I signed up for Apple TV to watch the rest on my TV in my living room. I went to my Samsung Smart TV Apps and searched for an Apple TV app, and was surprised that I couldn't find one. After googling its unclear to me whether there is even an app available for my <5 year old TV (there is an app for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc.). I got rid of my Apple TV box years ago as superfluous with my Smart TV. Is there a way to stream Apple TV from my computer to my TV? I really don't want to watch this stuff on my computer, and if I can't watch it on my TV I'll cancel it before my trial ends. Thanks in advance for any device.

there is a tv app for mac. if your television allows for airplay then you can airplay it from your computer to tv.

Thanks for this good advice, but unfortunately its giving me the option only to stream to my old Apple TV. I guess my TV isn't compatible.

It's available on and after 2018 model

I can't understand why Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney are available for my television, but not Apple TV.

Because Netflix, Prime and Disney have been around longer for other devices than the AppleTV app has been spreading to other devices... and/or maybe Samsung & Apple have not cut the deal that includes your generation of TV.

Frenzal offered what is likely the best option for you: play it on your computer and send it via HDMI cable to your TV. That seems VERY likely to work for your situation and is entirely within your control.

I've got a MBP 13" without HDMI. I'm sure I can get a dongle to make it work but too much effort for me. Thanks for the advice though.
