I am a complete noob to programming...I wrote a hello world cocoa-based application. I was wondering who to play a sound when a button is clicked along with the text. Can somebody help me?

You've probably got a fair way to go before you get there but the audio API on Mac OS X is called OpenAL.

If all you want to do is play a pre-recorded sound, check out NSSound.
