I have an external display connected and it's to the left of my macbook. I like having my dock on the left of my screen, but now that I have my display positioned to the left of my internal screen, the dock shows up on the external display instead of my macbook's screen. The menubar is still on my internal display, but I can't figure out how (if) I can keep the dock on the left side of my macbook's screen.

Any ideas?

If positioned at the left, the Dock will be at the left-most edge of the combined screens. Since your external is on the left of your MacBook monitor, the dock will be on the external's left edge. As far as I know this behaviour can't be changed. Why don't you set the external to the right of your MacBook? Or set the dock on the bottom or the right.

Yeah that's what I figured... The way my desk is set up there's really only room for the external screen to be on the left. And I've since changed the dock to the right, I just prefer it/am used to it being on the left.
