Hi, is there any way that I can prevent the apps from using any data (e.g. from advertisement etc)? THey are eating up my data limit!

Airplane mode is the only answer to your actual question.
But if your problem is a data limit, you have 2nd solution to that problem besides just airplane mode: Get onto wifi networks and use data that way whenever possible.
