How to prevent dust from entering speaker and mic grills?

There probably is no feasible way to prevent this is there? I have used my 3GS case free for 2 years and there isn't a single scratch on it because I never placed it in my pocket with keys or coins. The only problem is the dust and lint that accumulates in the grills due to being in the pocket.

Is there any feasible way to prevent this? Or is it just the nature of owning a cell phone?

Happens with my phone too... There's no real way to prevent it, but you can get rid of the lint concealed in the speaker grill by taking the case off, taking the back off the phone and and using a cotton bud or a toothpick to get it all out

I wonder if one of those little brushes for cleaning out electric razors would work?

Maybe like a compressed air can might help? I read that vacuum cleaners were great for fixing iPhone 4 home button woes.

Buy some blue Fun Tak. Take a chunk of it, press it into the speaker grill and pull it out. Voila, no more lint.

Well, the dock isn't a never ending hole. The air blows the dust right out of it.

I doubt anything will get in. My 3GS speaker looks as clean as a new iPhone, despite it not being a new phone. I didn't even know they get dirty.
