Is there a way that I can do to prevent my Unibody MBP display from waking up from sleep when I press the button on my Apple Remote to change the music playing on my iTunes?

I feel that it's a waste for the display to be on all the while the music is playing and I am doing something else.

I'm aware about the turning brightness to zero option, but I'm certain that it doesn't turn off the display or put it to sleep, just merely minimizing the backlight.

I really want to know this too! I thought I had found a solution with assigning a "hot-corner" to sleep display but it didn't work for me.

Any ides would be greatly appreciated.

I was just thinking the same tihng.

I was playing music while building a pantry this past weekend, and

1) I had to press the next track (right arrow key) twice to get to the next track, and the display would brighten up, and

2) when I ended up using the remote, the display came on anyway😱

Thoughts?
