I have a large amount of photos, i even have some on an external hard drive. The same applies for music, videos and movies. When I go to the respective indexes, I have all the titles on screen. How do I get to print these lists without having to type them all?

Open Terminal. Navigate to each directory of which you want a list of the contents. Enter

    Code:
    ls > list.txt
...and you generate a text file with the list of files in the current directory.

    1) Open a Finder window in for the directory of interest.

    2) Pick "list view". (May not strictly need this step.)

    3) Select all (command-A), the pick "Copy" from the contextual menu.

    4) Paste the result into a new TextEdit window.

I did open my Utilities, but do not have a terminal icon.
