Hey everyone,

I need some help! Recently, I installed VideoPro Converter which has a feature to record the screen and capture macOS sound. However, macOS Monterey doesn't support this out of the box, so the app installed an additional sound device called "System Sound Device." I'm trying to delete this sound device now, but I want to make sure I do it properly. How can I safely delete it?

Thanks in advance!

Case solved! :)

I found the device in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL. It's surprising that Apple doesn't provide any GUI tool to address this issue.

I suggest visiting the vendor's website and checking to see if there are any special instructions on how to uninstall the product. There might even be an uninstaller.

When I did multiple searches using the "VideoPro Converter" product name you posted, coupled with qualifying keywords like "mac" or "app" or "screen recorder", the results were always too generic for me to identify the product vendor. As a result, I have no suggestions on what the vendor's website name might be.

Yep, like I said I found it there. No gui way to uninstall it. I even asked app devs for help, but they asked to “record a video of your problem, will will try to help” 🥴

Anyway I see this all “driver” stuff to be somewhat behind windows interface where proper uninstall button exist for almost everything.
