I want to copy over a movie from a DVD to my iPod touch, so I downloaded the aforementioned programs.

The only problem is that I'm not sure how I should go about doing the ripping and all.

I ripped the DVD to my iMac using the chapter-chapter option in MacTheRipper, and I was left with 1 .VOB file which was around 6GB long, which is fine. Unfortunately, when I open Handbrake, it won't let me select anything other than chapter 1 to process into .m4v so that I can play it in my iPod Touch.

So I tried a different rip method, by choosing "Full Disk Extraction". But now, I'm left with a couple dozen of smaller files (each chapter, I assume) and don't have one big file for Handbrake to convert.

Can anyone offer assistance with this please?

Thanks 🙂

you should have something like this right?

if so all you need to do in handbrake is point it to the file that is the name of the movie, in this case "monoke", choose your preset(in your case "iphone" will work nicely) hit start and then go grab a drink!!

Hah, silly me. I didn't know that you could just select the main "folder".

Got it working now, thanks a lot 🙂
