Just wondering if there is anything out there to protect a 21.5 2013 iMac from kids in terms of the screen.

My dad has his grandchildren over at times and he has his iMac on a coffee table. He liked to find something that he could protect the screen from small impacts.

Thanks in advance!

Put it out of their reach. I have three kids, ranging from 12 to 16, and I wouldn't put a computer on a coffee table. Kids are kids. Things happen.

Either control the behavior of the kids or remove the potential (move the iMac to a closed room or closet) from the environment during the kids visit. The latter is easier, out of sight, out of mind.

Well I guess if you were in the maket for a NEW iMac (like buying one today) then you could buy the Vesa-Mount version and mount it to your wall behind your desk.

While not perfect, it would probably GREATLY reduce the chance of the kids knocking it over with a Nerf football or something.

Beyond that... I can't think of much beyond super-gluing it to your desk or something.

This ^^^ is an actual, sensible and reasonable suggestion.

On the other hand, I was going to suggest full body restraints and high dose soporifics...:p

The price of having grand kids visit is child proofing or knowing things will get broken. While I don't think a coffee table is not an ideal placement for an iMac in any situation, he will need to move it out of reach when the visit. With an iMac on it the table will be top heavy an depending on the age of the child, could pose a risk to the child should it topple over on them.

build a 5x5x5 foot cube of 1/2in thick plexiglass around said iMac and table. His bluetooth keyboard and mouse should work ok, and will keep the kids away!
