That's because you're a girl.

I only ever get the manual out after the new toy is smouldering on the floor from countless attempts at repairing permissions, irrespective of whether it's a Mac.

Mad Jew loves them permissions!!! I could see you as a parent whose child misbehaves or doesn't ask permission before doing something when they should have...

"Why you little..."

"I'll repair your permissions - Get your @$$ over here!"

^^ Is it so hard to read a site's FAQ/Rules prior to registering and posting?!

I always do that. Just like I always read a manual before turning on/ assembling something.

That's such a womanly way of thinking and going about technical things. :D

I was in such a frenzy while I was waiting for my PowerBook to ship that I downloaded the manual and had read it before it arrived....
I just keep looking at Apple's site, hoping somehow it will speed up my shipment.

Ah... but I had a slightly rash decision making process. I saw it on Dec 29 when I needed a new computer and forced myself to wait til MWSF in case there were any new updates. As soon as the keynote coverage finished on MR, I walked straight down to Peter Jones and bought it. Since I was sitting on a Tube, I didn't feel I could start unwrapping it. That journey home has rarely seemed so long...unless you count the times when you've been in the pub all evening and forgot to visit the little girls' room before leaving
