How to put phone to sleep (not using sleep / wake button)

App / soft button to put photo to sleep.
Or a Launcher automator.

I have a feeling the sleep wake button on my phone is wearing out.
Is there an alternative method to put phone to sleep?

I got to the point where I can click on the square then choose device then lock screen.
I do not know how to record it.
