When I swipe left in the native Mail app on my iPad Pro, it brings up a menu with a "More" option and then the "Trash" option. I have to very deliberately swipe all the way to the left to delete. In the Gmail and Outlook apps, it's very easy to delete: you simply swipe once. Is there a way to adjust this behavior so the iPad Mail app behaves like Gmail and Outlook?

If you swipe (nearly) all the way to the left it will delete the email and this is one action/swipe once. I actually find Outlook a little too easy to delete emails so I have to a little more cautious using that.

The issue that drives me insane is that if you have multiple accounts of different types (iCloud and Gmail, for instance) and you look at a merged view of "All Mailboxes" the swipe options are reversed for different accounts. Sometimes it's swipe left to delete, sometimes swipe right. It seems incredibly user-hostile. Is there a way to fix this?

I didn't even notice this. I have the official Gmail for my @gmail.com accounts because iOS doesn't support Push notifications for gmail but it does for Outlook.

I have no idea what you’re talking about… I have iCloud and Gmail emails in the Mail app on my devices, and swipe actions are exactly the same. Swipe right reveals mark-unread and reminder - swipe left delete, flag, and options.

I have the same issue. On all inbox my Gmail messages dont delete swiping, while the rest does. Any solution?

As far as I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ mostly defaults... Gmail Advanced options of course has "Move discarded messages into" Deleted instead of Archived; that's a common change for Gmail accounts. If I changed anything beyond that it was enough years ago that I've forgotten it.

Swipe Options are Left = Flag and Right = Mark as Read - but that doesn't match actual behavior; if I "Swipe" left it deletes. Drag left shows the Options, Flag, and Delete.

I don't see any others that I imagine would affect it... but if there's a specific setting you want let me know!
