Hi,

I'm wondering can anyone help me.
I bought an iPhone 3GS last year, jailbroke it using blackra1n and unlocked it so I could use it with a different operator.
However, now I want to switch back to that original network operator.

How can I re-lock the iPhone and un-jailbreak it?

Thanks!

Just restore it to the latest firmware, set up as a new phone and don't sync apps, note, contacts or audio video files

You don't need to relock the phone to use it with the original provider. The unlock allows you to use with someone other than the original provider, but does not prevent the original provider from working.

If you want to un-Jailbreak it, just restore with iTunes, with TU, if you want to restore to iOS which is not 4.1. If you want 4.1, then you can just do it through iTunes, you will of course lose your current unlocked baseband, but you do not appear to be concerned by this.

Thanks for the help!

I know I don't need to re-lock it etc. but I would like to upgrade to 4.1, and being tethered to a computer is quite frustrating.

So if I just upgrade to 4.1 on iTunes it will be re-locked? Will I lose all my music, contacts etc or is there a way around this?

plug your phone into itunes and on the summary page where you see two options "Update" or "Restore" .

Just select update and it will update you phone to the latest firmware without deleting any of the data or music except for any Cydia related apps.

The Restore option will wipe your phone and put a new copy of the firmware on it. The upgrade does not wipe the data.

Greenp0s1n and limera1n, IIRC, both are untethered Jailbreaks for 4.1, FYI.
