Can anyone tell me how to read the Document "Final Cut Pro System ID"?
This is were the serial number is housed but I don't have a application that will open it.
I lost my Serial number and need to upgrade my FCP 5.0 to FCP 5.1.4 to read files that were built with my friends FCP.

Actually Laslo, that preference file does not house the Serial Number.
The FCP Serial Number is housed in the "Final Cut Pro System ID" file
Library -> Application Support -> ProApps -> Final Cut Pro System ID
