I accidentally deleted all my text messages on May 10th. However, I have an itunes backup from May 8th. I wanted to know if I restore my phone back to factory settings and then restore from the May 8th backup.. would I be able to recover those text messages? Any help on how to recover them would be appreciated. thanks!

Just restore from iTunes backup files with iTunes.
1.Configure iTunes so that it does not automatically sync with your iPhone when your phone is connected to your computer
2.Connect your iPhone to the computer.
    3.Open iTunes
4.Right-click on your device and press ‘Restore from backup…’
By the time the restore is done. Note: If your other files like new contacts, new messages that have not backed up would be rewritten.

You can try CopyTrans, iPhone SMS Transfer, or other software with the same purpose.

    Same experience

I also had the same experience before and I never recovered my messages :(
Lesson learned: Backup important messages and data :)

Why is everyone NOT saying this?
This is why we backup our phone, so we can EASILY recover our contacts and messages. Simply "restore from you last back up"
