How to Reload OS on Mini Server with no Superdrive

Ok thinking of buying a Mini Server Refurb from Apple, but do they give you a USB key with the os and Applications because I do not have an external USB DVD Drive?

Nope, it comes with DVD. You need to find another computer with DVD drive or an external drive to rip an UBS install key.

Or find another machine and use the Remote Mac OS X installer. Even if its a Windows machine, put the Mac OS X install DVD you get in a PC and then install the software from there. It will enable you to share the optical drive out over your local network

buy an external drive on ebay. i bought an apple external superdrive on ebay for $30

I wouldn't bother with Remote Installer - it's too painful and slow. If you already found a machine with a DVD drive - just rip a USB thumbdrive. Much less painful.
