how to remove batt icon w/o winterboard

Just as the tittle says.

That would actually free up some room up top. I only need battery percentage.

On IOS 3 you could toggle by tapping the battery... but on iOS4 you just add the percentage.

The title is actually a declarative statement, not a question. I clicked this thread expecting to read a how-to, not be asked to provide one...


Sorry I don't have the answer, but what's the beef against winterboard? Doesn't seem like running a tweak through winter board to just remove the battery icon would cause that much of a ruckus.

I think winterboard gets a bad rap. It's only a resource hog if you're running really heavy theme with animation and stuff.

afaik, you can't. the shared.artwork, where the images are, is locked. someone has unlocked it but i don't know if they were able to compile it back up. winterboard may be your only option.
