I have one of the original late-90s Bondi iMacs (with the tray-load CD). Several years ago it got fried by an electrical storm, but i kept it around with the idea that I might extract the hard drive one day and external-mount it. But getting to it is crazy hard. I can't pull any of the innards out of the case because the internal cable harness is so bulky it's blocking my efforts to get anything out of there. And I don't think I can reach all the screws needed to loosen the inner components. Has anybody here tried to do this before? Is there an actual procedure for it?
