when i keep command key down and try to drag the icons out of menu bar for some of the icons it doesnt work. is the any alternative way to do this?

Go into the app or process's preferences and find where you can uncheck the "Show icon in the menu bar" option. What in particular? That might be more useful to those trying to provide information.
i cant do this for Geektool,Logemein,WD Smartware. atm im trying to get rid of smartware and i cant find any item for it in startup so i dont know how it loads automatically. and in its preferences there's no such option.
i have the same problem... i have uninstalled wd smartware, and deleted it of my computer and its programs files, and it still apears? ive tryed everything and there is no way i can remove the icon?
