I removed iStat menu from my Mac, by hand (searching for all its files in the Library folder, with iStat or bjango in the file names). But I still get an unactive iStat Menus item in the General Settings preferences pane, in the background processes list (see pict below). How can I remove this item from the list? Where is the file located? I'm unable to find it in my Library folder.

Ok, I found it. It was two pesky files located inside my "system wide all users" Library/LaunchDaemons folder.

"To uninstall iStat Menus, please choose iStat Menus › Uninstall from the menu bar, "

best way since method you used doesn't always catch everything for some apps.

This uninstall doesn't remove everything. This is why I prefer the hand way. TrashMe and CleanMyMac may be better, but they also add lots of files everywhere...

This uninstall doesn't remove everything.

Unusual. Normally the developer uninstaller knows best the files that are installed, much better than AppCleaner or the apps you mentioned. There is no guarantee that the files that an app installs or uses have names can be found by guessing the correct search text.
