How to remove NetGear from My MacBook Pro

I want to remove NetGear Genie from my late 13 MacBook Pro running 10.13. Will the "APP Cleaner and Uninstaller" found in the OSX APP Store remove everything in the NetGear Genie App from my Mac?

Most App Cleaner and uninstaller apps do not catch everything and usually leave stuff behind. I have the older free version of App Cleaner and it works the same way. It seems lots of folks have asked about how to completely remove the NetGear Genie software. Here's a link that explains how to remove it manually which might be the best way.

I would not trust any "App cleaner and uninstaller" it is much better to do it by tracking down the programs files.

Thanks for the replies but I don't trust myself enough to manually delete the app and all of it's contents myself. I was just wondering if anyone had success with deleting the app using an app uninstaller from the Mac app store.

The link I gave you above walks you thru it step by step. Worth a try, don't you think? However, if you're uncomfortable with doing it that way, use the App Store uninstaller app you referred to. If the app is advertised in the Mac App store, it's a least safe to use.

I don't like using Spotlight to clean out lingering caches and such. Spotlight is designed to not look in some places. I use "Find Any File" instead, and hold the option key when I start the search. That will search the whole drive. "EasyFind" also works for this purpose.

"Find Any File" will work. The latest version is no longer freeware though. And yes, EasyFind will also work. I agree with you about Spotlight, I too do not like using it.

I went ahead and download App Cleaner ($4.99) from the App Store. Pretty easy to use and everything went well.
