So I am moving to 7 from a 6 that was restored from iphone 5. I want to start fresh but I have 2 problems

1) Is there a way to import just the icon arrangment? I don't want to go through pages of icons collecting them and placing them just the way I like with my finger.

2) How can I import my game saves without restoring the whole device? I can restore DropBox and Evernote just but logging in.

You can't restore only the icon arrangement, but if you use iTunes, you can arrange them on your computer with your mouse. It might be easier that way.

This is retarded, this should be an option like Migration Assistant in OS X.

How about game saves?

Some games restore from iCloud but others must be restored from a backup. Honestly it's probably easier if you just use a backup.

He could restore from a backup and then reset all settings. That would preserve his game saves and would not reset his icon placement.

Well to have the icons you need to have the Apps so that isn't starting afresh either...

TBH OP could probably have done it by now, restored, deleted any unwanted Apps and rearranged any still required. (all easier done using iTunes)

I don't care about icon arrangement because you can do that manually but it should be easier, but game saves you have to either restore the whole iphone or none of it. You can't pick to restore individual games/apps.

Any idea how can I tell which games restore through iCloud and which don't?

This is probably the only solution, but I still think maybe something would still be stuck there from earlier backups. Remember this iphone is built up from iOS 6 days we are in iOS 10 now.

By the way, you can go to your devices in iTunes, and arrange the pages there. It's a bit more visual, and easier to drag and drop.
