How To Restore Jailbroken 1.0.2

I got a jailbroken iphone 2G which is running 1.0.2. Can I just restore it to 3.0? Or will that brick this iPhone. It's NOT unlocked, just jailbroken. Please let me know.

Yes. You can restore (don't use update) to stock 3.0 firmware and use redsn0w to jailbreak.
