I have a number of the folders in my home directory on a 2nd hard drive, using symbolic links to allow Mac OS to use them properly. However when I try to add them to the sidebar, they have blank folder icons. I tried copying & pasting the special icons onto the new folders in the Finder but that didn't help.

I'm guessing this isn't specific to ML, but that's the version of OS X that I'm using.

I tried the same steps as you for my sym linked folders and never got anywhere...decided to just live with blank/std. folder icons.
