Just wondering - I accidentally deleted the game save to one my apps on my iPhone today.

Luckily yesterday I had had done a sync on my ITunes and have a backup of it.

However it's one day old and I don't want it to wipe the current content from my phone.

Is there anyway to do the backup restore without completely wiping my iPhone's current data?

I don't believe so.

Back up your iPhone. And find the game's file in yesterday's backup folder. Copy that file to today's backup folder. Restore from today's backup.

However.... there is no guarantee this will work. It will most likely fail. I've tried this before, but iTunes will say the backup data is either corrupt or incompatible. But there is a slim chance this might work.

Another issue is... how will you find the game's backup file? Depending on how you have your phone configured, there are around 2000+ files in the backup folder. And the file names are very cryptic.

Ok I went ahead and just Restored Backup to yesterday's backup.

However when I restored - was I suppose to do a "Reset Settings and Contents" on my iPhone (wiping it clean) before I proceeded with restoring the backup - or could I have just restored my backup while the iPhone still had my existing stuff on it (which is what I actually did.)

Does the backup restore do a clean wipe anyways of the existing iPhone contents during the process?
