Would somebody be able to provide some sort of template as far as how to get iOS 8 to run as smoothly as possible on an iPhone 4S? I just upgraded and I feel like it completely broke the phone in half, and there's certainly no way that I'll use it the way that it is.

Also, if I don't find it quick enough after any tweaks are made, how long would I have to downgrade back to iOS 7?

Thanks

Turn everything off lol ( no but really) signing status for 7.1.2 will probably only last until tomorrow downgrade while you can, and then read ALOT before upgrading again

Yeah reduce motion too. If iOS 8 is too unbearable for you, you might have a little more time to find an iOS 7 ispw and downgrade

I updated to iOS 8 this afternoon on my 4S. It was terrible. As soon as I got home this evening I found the 7.1.2 file and reverted back.

Well I managed to roll it back in time. It did run A LITTLE better when I tweaked all of the settings and did a clean install, but still nowhere near IOS 7. Yesterday was a disappointing waste of time to say the least.

I've benn running iOS8 on my 4S for a while and it runs really well. So much so I can't remember if iOS7 would have run better than it does now.

Things like hitting the home button and 2 seconds later going back to the home screen, sometimes tapping the screen or hitting the button and getting no response at all, apps taking way longer to load, less space when writing messages. These things happened and I couldn't ignore them. Maybe 8.1 will be different whenever that is.

I updated couple hours ago and so far things are going pretty well with my 4S.

I did a clean restore to iOS 8 from 7 so there would be no extra baggage to possible slow the phone down. So far seems to be doing the trick.
