On my Mac I can drag a voice message (in messages) onto a folder and it copies a .caf file.

On iOS, I cannot figure out how to do something similar. On the Apple docs it says:

"To save the message in the Voice Memos app
91aa29e35113ab1c1f36cd6b872e2534.png
, touch and hold the audio message, then tap Save to Voice Memos."

But this doesn't work for me. Am I nuts??

You mentioned "in messages" and in Voice Memos. Where is this message you want to save??

If in Voice Memos, on iOS touch [Select], then touch the message you want to select it, then the Share button. Then View More > Save to Files or... however you want to save it.

If a Voice Mail in the Phone app, touch the Voice Mail so you get to the "Play" screen, then Share button, then the rest.

If a Voice message in the Messages app, then the steps you mentioned (touch & hold; "Save to Voice Memos") will work and THEN the Voice Memos steps above.

Voice message in Messages app. But when I touch and hold, all I see is "Reply", "Attach Sticker", "Translate", and "More". If i hit more, it lets me select multiple messages (voice or not) and forward them to another number, but thats it.
Any chance you can show me with a screenshot??

edit I just saw a video on Youtube, in the video is shows "Copy" and "Save to Voice Memos" as additional options. VERY confused. Why am i not seeing these?

Hmm – yes. I just tried the same steps, and I definitely have the "Save to Voice Memos" option for audio messages in Messages. (Though I'm noticing that I have "Translate" for text messages and not voice messages, whereas you've said you have "Translate" for voice messages. Could that be some kind of hint?)
