I'm sure there's an answer somewhere on the forum already, I'm just not sure what to search for.

How do I save all my stuff when swapping to an SSD? Is there a complete guide on the forum with everything I need to know?

  • Time Machine
  • CCC
  • SuperDuper
  • ChronoSync
  • External HDD

You can use the software above to save your OS and/or Data or just use an external HDD to save your Data such as music, movies, pics, documents.

There are lots way of ways to do it, there is no better way, just make sure you do what Jesus does, Save and Save Often.

I used CCC to clone my HD to the new SSD (samsung 830) and it was a breeze and I'm having zero issues.

Carbon copy closer. Just plug bith in and clone current drive to SSD then replace with SSD :)
